Wyatt graduated from preschool. It was an America theme so he wore a stars and stripes bandanna under his hat. What a character!
Maren and I hit vegas for our 10 year anniversary. One of the must do stops was at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop made famous on Pawn Stars (history channel). There were no mirrors so I took a self portrait of me in a Chum Lee hat... I didn't end up buying it...

Here is a picture of the family after Wade's baptism. Wade was really excited to be baptized. When he took his first step in the water he said the water was really warm and then when we were coming out he just kept saying how awesome that was. He is a really good kid and will grow up to be a fantastic big brother and example.

After all the pictures were done the kids changed to swimming outfits and hit the sprinklers and trampoline in the backyard. This was about the only time Zack went running out there - after he got hit in the face with the cold water he was pretty much done.
Zeke was still ready to go for more after the long day of baptism, gathering and shopping. He is like the energizer bunny.

Wade did a tarzan and climbed his rope at Trazan's Treehouse.
As the afternoon came on Logan took a quick nap while we waited for the Pirate's ride.
Around 5pm it was nap time for Wyatt now. As we got in the middle of the parade and were watching it he fell asleep on my head... first his arm dropped, then his head went down and he was out.
It was a little chilly as we made our way into Disney California, but it was perfect because we got to see a bunch of the shows and stuff and all the fair weather californites had left the park so there was no waiting.
Pretty cool glasses for the 3-d bugs life. This was a big hit with everyone... except the stink bug and all the bugs that crawled under us...

On Christmas eve we went to this really cool build your own car place. The boys had a great time building their cars and customizing them.

Christmas morning turned into warfare. Between the dart guns and the "life savers" it was a lot of fun.
After christmas was over it was time to pack up to head to california. After I got it all packed in the back... wyatt climbed in to and was ready to make the trip in the little spot he had found.

Condo Fire

I'm sure most of you have heard that Logan's condo Incline Terrace caught on fire last Friday night. He was evacuated with only the clothes on his back which were his pajamas. Luckily the fire was contained to the entire 6th floor and attic. The roof is completely gone and the rest of the building had smoke and water damage. Logan's place was on the bottom floor and even though there was no fire it sustained major water damage and smelled a bit of smoke. Poor Logan was not let back in until Monday, so with work and finals he had to bunk at a buddies place. Otherwise he would have come to stay with us. Luckily the red cross gave him some money to buy clothes until Monday. He said it was pretty funny walking around the mall in his pajamas. When we were let back in on Monday, Logan found he had been robbed and was also told that he had to have everything out by Saturday. Residents probably won't be living there for at least a year. When we went in it was pitch black, damp, and freezing. We used flashlights to bag up his damp smokey clothes and take pictures. Mildew is setting in and with the help of a UHaul Logan was finally able to get everything out on Wednesday. Now our house smells like mildew and smoke as we have moved Logan's stuff in and I am frantically doing laundry, so he has some clothes to wear. But, with all that has happened it is the least I can do for the poor guy. Now he is staying in a hotel until his finals are done and he can go home to AZ and relax.

Last Monday night we went to Wade's school to shoot rockets as prepared by Chrissom. Here are some videos and pics from that night. It was a ton of fun... the night started out perfect with no wind, then a slight wind came up and the last rocket we shot floated about 1/2-3/4 mile away.

Today was a fun day for the Pickett Clan - Zeke was born into our family at 4:13 PM. Weight 7 lbs, 5 oz | Height 17 Inches. He is a cutie.

Day 3 - today the weather was what most people would call "nice" - this means no clouds or rain. It also means it is pretty hot. We rode quite a bit today with only a couple stops. Here is the first stop - an old coal mine. It was pretty cool and very rickety.

A stop for lunch in Hulett, WY for lunch found Logan and I in quite a pinch. The coffin was a perfect fit. Luckily, we were cow rustlers or we would be in them permanently.

Last stop today was at Devils Tower in Wyoming. Quite an interesting outcrop of rock in the middle of nowhere. The story goes that many moons ago a family of Indians were camped down by a river where there were quite a few bears around. The children were out playing one afternoon a little ways from camp when the bears started to chase them. The children knew they couldn't outrace the bears so they stopped and prayed to Mother Earth to protect them from the bears. As the bears came closer and closer, the earth started to raise higher and higher. The bears clawed the sides of the piece of earth as it went up into the sky and the children were saved. If you look closely you can still see the claw marks on the side of the butte.

Day 2: After a beautiful ride through the Black Hills our first stop is at Deadwood. Famous for a gold rush and for being the baddest town in the west at the time. This is looking down historic Main Street.
In the middle of Main Street we paused for a quick picture where Wild Bill Hickok was shot in the back while playing cards. He held two pair, Aces over Eights, now know as the dead man's hand.
Further south we came across Pactola Lake. This was a very beautiful area and it looks like a day at the lake would be a ton of fun here.

Mt. Rushmore - Pretty amazing to see all the stone work that went into this and to think of the great men that have worked tirelessly to make this country great.

Night 1 - Morning 2

Last night as we were just about ready to call it a night... this happened. A big lightning storm. It was pretty cool because it was far enough away that we didn't get all the thunder. It sprinkled a little last night and this morning we woke up to cloudy skies. Right now it is 63 degrees with 30% chance of thunderstorms. Time to ride.

Day 1 - Sturgis 2008

Day 1 Sturgis 2008:
Today was mostly spent on the road. We left early at 5 am from the Pickett house, the Dyna Harley's alarm of course was going on as we trailered the bikes. So before we even got out of Saratoga Springs we were pulled over by our friends in blue. The officer just wanted to make sure we didn't steal the bikes or something. So after a short stop we were back on the road on our way to pick up Logan.

Above is our camp at the Hog Heaven Campground. Quite a nice place and great set up, plenty of room in the tent for three and a great shade spot under the awning.

On way over we came across the "Cool Bus" I thought maybe Wade would want to take this to school next year.

Dinner time came and that meant only one thing for Seth, a full Turkey drumstick. The thing weighed at least 5 pounds. Drowning in bbq sauce it was great!

The coolest thing I saw was this guy on a customized John Deere Tractor Bike. It was pretty cool.

Seth Jerem Dad Fishing Trip 2008

This was the beautiful lake we fished at one day.

Camp was a great place under the trees and away from everything. During the trip we each caught over 100 fish a piece. We saw Big Horn Sheep, Mule & Whitetail Deer, Eagle, and a Black Bear.

Went stopped into Salmon Idaho and took the grand tour through the history of Salmon and all about the Lewis and Clark trail and meeting up with Sacajawea.

It was really fun - the most memorable experience was when we were fishing Iron Creek and Dad decided to involuntarily take a swim in a Beaver Pond. A quick dip and he was back up gasping for air, but that didn't stop him, he went on to catch more than 30 fish from that Beaver's Pond. It was quite an experience.

We went to eat at my parents favorite Chicago pizza Place, Ginos. The best deep dish pizza you will ever taste.

Seth goes to a conference every year at the end of June for work. This year it was in Chicago, so we decided to invite my parents to come with us. Since it is where my dad went to Dental School (Northwestern) and they haven't been back in like 30 years. It was so much fun and probably one of the best vacations I've ever been on!

My blog finally decided to work, so here are some new pictures. We found out in March that we will be having another boy! Since I finally have a bedroom that I can dedicate to the baby, I decided that it will be a full on nursery. So we found dinosaur bedding that we like and it only had a bumper, so I have been sewing like crazy which I hate to do. I have also been painting like crazy and have a sweet lady in my ward doing wonderful murals in the nursery and my boys rooms. I can't wait until it is all finished, it's turning out so cute!

10 years ago: I was 17 years old and a Junior in High School. Mostly I had no life. I hung around with Amber Yoder and Janae Arnold mostly. We went to the football games on Friday nights and then came over tomy house and hung out in our game room. I pretty much was a nobody who had to hang around with the cool people.

I am perfectly content with my baseball cap, sweats, t-shirt, and no make-up. I'm also pretty laid back. I am perfectly content sitting at home on my rear doing absolutely nothing and taking the phone off the hook and taking a nap! Oh yeah, and I HATE cooking!

My family came to Utah for Christmas this year. It was nice to have it in our home and also have a home big enough to accomodate everyone. We finally finished the basement, so Ian and his kids and my parents all had rooms to stay in.

We had a wonderful Christmas, but it wasn't all fun and games because everyone got the stomach flu except for Wade and I. So someone was out each day while the rest of us tried to have fun.

We went to AZ a little before Thanksgiving, so Wyatt got to celebrate his birthday with some friends that were staying at my parents house for the month of November. Okay, so I finally took some pictures of the basement work. But now they are out dated. We are past this point and to the final stages. We are painting, laying tile, putting in baseboards, and picking out carpet. It should be complete by Christmas, YEAH!!!!!!

I must say that it was the most fun I have had in a long time. The party was so much fun and the food was incredible!

My mom decided to come up and visit us this past weekend. It was so nice to have her here to help alleviate the stresses we are experiencing with our basement and every day life. But of course it couldn't have been all fun. Wyatt woke up on Monday with another ear ache, so we had to go to the doctor and get another prescription. Then Wade had to go to school and throw up all over his teacher on Tuesday. Now he has the flu the day before he was to get his flu shot. It's been a very exciting week! My mom left Wednesday evening, so it kind of put a damper on our events, but at least we got to do a few things.
Our basement will be done with mud, tape, and texture on Saturday. So we are looking forward to painting and all the detail work. Hopefully it will be done by Thanksgiving and if not deadline is Christmas.
That's all that we are up to. Hopefully I will have pictures of the boys in their costumes for Halloween.

Same Old Thing

Every time I check our blog, I know I need to keep up with everything that is going on in our lives. But it always seems to be the same old thing.
We are close to the first inspection on our basement, so we are pretty excited about that. We had our fireplace installed today, so we know if nothing else we can sleep on the concrete floor with the framing.
I have started to exercise every day now for at the very least 30 minutes. Let me tell you that it has been one month and NO results. I'm not kidding that now I weigh more than before. If anyone has any hints or a better way to lose weight please let me know. I'm dying here!
Seth has been working non stop on the basement and with his job I feel like I never see him. We are looking forward to the holidays, so we can all have a break.

Okay, so I am really new with the technology computer thing. Seth has let me borrow his computer from work, so I can figure out this blog thing. We don't have the internet or a computer, so bare with me.
We live in Utah and are trying to survive. Nothing too exciting really goes on in our family. We are in the process of finishing our basement, so I am now an expert in framing, duct work, and electrical. It has been fun, but very time consuming.
Our boys keep us the most busy. Wade is in school all day, which is nice for me, but not for him. He says, "School is boring it's like six hours long and we never do anything!" Wyatt on the other hand would watch Ninja Turtles all day long if I let him. I keep busy with housework and all the phone calls and Home Depot runs I have to make for the basement. Seth is still working in the Human Resources at 1800Contacts and spending the evenings and weekends finishing up the basement.
